Company Description

EDM is a financial and operations consulting firm providing outsourced financial services for governmental entities, including school districts and municipalities. We ensure efficient and timely public-sector financial reporting and operational deliverables for our clients, focusing on state and federal reporting, grants management, supervision of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, month-end close, cash and investment management, audit and budget preparation and reporting.  We are seeking to expand our team with an individual available to work in Allegheny County & remotely.

This is a full-time role to provide fractional services on a long-term basis to governmental entities, including school districts and municipalities, in and around Allegheny County. Onsite services are a component of the role, requiring 2-3 days onsite a week depending on client needs, with the remainder of the work performed remotely.

 

The Director of Finance  role involves managing and overseeing financial operations for municipalities and school entities, including budgeting, financial reporting, audit, and ensuring compliance with funding requirements. The director will collaborate with client leadership to make strategic financial decisions and optimize resource allocation. The manager will collaborate with onsite and remote staff to ensure efficient business services.

Qualifications

  • Financial Management, Budgeting, and Financial Reporting skills

  • Knowledge of GASB & GAAP

  • Knowledge of governmental entity (municipal and school district) revenue and expenditure sources

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Experience in working with school administrators and preparing presentations specific to administrative needs

  • Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field

  • CPA or certification a school finance officer or school business administrator is a plus
