Stumpy’s Hatchet House is the perfect place to unplug from technology and embrace the primitive thrill of axe throwing. For a little extra fun, you might even try going region vs. region, turning the activity into a friendly competition for bragging rights!
Attendees registered for the excursion will meet in the Lancaster Marriott lobby at 1:15 p.m., where a bus will transport everyone to the venue. Once there, axe throwing fun begins from 2:00–4:00 p.m., complete with both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Food is available for purchase on-site, so you can refuel between throws.
How to Prepare:
- Closed-toe shoes are required for safety—no sandals or open-toe footwear.
- Dress comfortably—this is a sporting event!
- For warmer weather, lightweight, loose-fitting clothing works best. Cooler temps? Bring a flannel, sweater, or sweatshirt.
Gameplay Options:
- Standard Play: Each person throws to score points; first to 21 wins!
- Reverse Points: Bulls-eye scores 1 point, outer rings 5—see who can score the lowest.
- S.T.U.M.P.(Y) Spelling Game: Hit specific target rings to spell the word STUMP or STUMPY. Variations include spelling in order, out of order, or even backwards!
- Around the World: Start with a bulls-eye, then hit each outer red dot clockwise, finishing with a final bulls-eye to win.
