Job Description:

Who We Are: Lancaster Area Sewer Authority owns, operates, and maintains a public sewer system that serves

more than 40,000 customers in 9 municipalities in Lancaster County. We have been serving our community for

50 years and strive to provide the highest quality of service at a reasonable cost. We are looking for an

individual who is interested in our continued success.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Receive, review, and process vendor invoices, fees, and assessments for approval in accordance with

internal controls & policies.

• Prepare financial reports, schedules, and month end budget analyses for review.

• Support month end and year end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and

accruals.

• Ensure accuracy and completeness in work.

• Process and reconcile credit card transactions in the financial system, reviewing documentation and

receipts for completeness & proper coding.

• Prepare supporting documentation and payment vouchers for recurring and non-recurring monthly

expenditures.

• Coordinate with vendors and internal departments to research & resolve invoice & purchase order

discrepancies and payment issues.

• Perform reconciliations of bank accounts, investment accounts, and key balance sheet accounts;

investigate & resolve variances.

• Job Type: Full-time – Dayshift – in-office. 8:00 am – 4:30 pm M-F

Education/Experience:

• Any combination of education and experience, which indicates possession of the skills,

knowledge and abilities listed above. An example of acceptable qualifications for this position

is completion of a bachelor’s degree in finance, business accounting, or related field such as

Public or Business Administration with emphasis in accounting or finance, and at least 5 years

of progressive experience in finance or accounting, preferably within the public sector. A

master’s degree and auditing background are desirable.

Required Licenses/Certifications:

At time of hire, valid PA Driver’s License, Class C, and ability to meet and maintain eligibility for inclusion under

LASA’s vehicle insurance policy, CPA certification is optional. Excellent benefits package.
