Job Description:
The City of Oil City is currently accepting applications for the position of Finance
Officer. The Finance Officer is an exempt professional management position responsible for
managing and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Finance Office. This includes, but
is not limited to, preparation of financial reports, assisting in the development of the annual
budget, analyzing and reconciling financial data and accounts, implementing financial
policies, procedures and systems, handling payroll and tax-related functions, employee
pensions and assisting with audit preparation. This position operates with significant
independence under the general guidance of the city manager.
The educational requirements are graduation from an accredited four-year college or
university with a degree in accounting, finance, business, public administration or a closely
related field, as well as three (3) years of progressively responsible finance work, preferably
in a municipal setting.
