DESCRIPTION OF WORK

 

As an Accountant 2, you will review financial statements and claims processing data submitted by managed care organizations. You will conduct financial analysis, prepare payment entries, and interpret and monitor compliance with contractual agreements. Initiative and solid judgement skills play a key part to your success in this role. You will also file quarterly reports, prepare financial presentations, and participate in on-site visits.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. You will be required to report to the office one (1) day per month. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as an Accountant 1; or
  • Two years of professional accounting experience, and graduation from a four-year college or university, including or supplemented by fifteen credits in accounting. 
  • Four years of bookkeeping experience and fifteen college credits in accounting may be substituted for college graduation. A Master's degree in Accounting or a related field may be substituted for one year of general work experience.
