The Government Finance Officers Association’s Certified Public Finance Officers (CPFO) program is designed to prepare public finance professionals for leadership roles in state and local government. Through a comprehensive curriculum grounded in best practices and professional standards, the CPFO program strengthens core competencies and deepens expertise across key areas of public finance.
Participants gain the knowledge and confidence to contribute meaningfully to decision-making efforts within their governments and communities, while also leading projects, initiatives, and teams with clarity and purpose.
The CPFO program reflects GFOA’s core principles of ethics, leadership, and professional excellence. It recognizes members who commit to advancing their skills and staying current with industry standards. The program also encourages continued engagement with GFOA resources, including best practices, publications, training opportunities, conferences, member networking groups, and partnerships that support high-performing public finance professionals.
GFOA-PA CPFO Scholarship Opportunity
To support members pursuing this respected credential, GFOA-PA will award two (2) scholarships covering the full $600 one-year CPFO enrollment fee.
This is an excellent opportunity to invest in your professional growth and position yourself for expanded leadership opportunities within your organization and community. Applications will be accepted through June 30th, with awards made at the September GFOA-PA Board Meeting. GFOA-PA Board Members will review and make final awards on scholarships.
