Designed for finance directors, this session offers practical tools to help manage and reduce workers' compensation costs. You’ll learn how experience modification rates work, how to calculate and forecast them, and the differences between workers' comp trusts and traditional budgeting methods. We’ll also cover key budgeting questions to help you stay financially responsible and support long-term stability for your organization.

Jacob Heigel is a seasoned Client Advisor for Acrisure in the Company’s East Division with a specialty in addressing the unique needs of Non-Profits, YMCAs, Public School Districts, Powder Metal Manufacturers and Municipalities. His diverse skill set includes proficiency in marketing, rating, underwriting, claims review, experience modification projections, and cyber security coverage, enabling him to deliver customized, strategic solutions to his clients.

Based in DuBois, PA, Jacob’s client-centric philosophy is underscored by his strong grasp of industry-specific challenges, ensuring that organizations can confidently manage risks and protect their operations efficiently. His professional path in the insurance and financial services industry began as a Commercial Lines Underwriter and he honed his expertise further during his tenure as a Commercial Producer, joining an Acrisure Agency Partner in 2017.

2026 GFOA-PA Annual Statewide Conference

Hotel Reservations: GFOA-PA has reserved a room block at the Lancaster Marriott. The room rate is $165/night + taxes, fees and hotel services charge. The deadline for guaranteed discounted reservations is March 31,2025. Make your reservation here. Please note credit cards are charged a one night's advance deposit including tax at the time of booking a reservation.

If you prefer to speak to a Reservation Agent, please call the Lancaster Marriott Reservation office at 717-239-1600 and ask for the room block for the Government Finance Officers Association of Pennsylvania Annual Conference. Please note if you need to cancel your room reservation, you need to cancel three days in advance to avoid any fees.

Cancellation/Refund Policy:
GFOA-PA has a staggered cancellation/refund policy: 

• 100% refund on 2026 Annual Conference cancellations made on or before March 27, 2026.  
• 50% refund on 2025 Annual Conference cancellations made March 28 – April 15, 2026. 
• No refunds on cancellations made on or after April 15, 2026. 

Please note that canceling your Annual Conference Registration will not cancel your hotel reservation. Please contact the hotel directly to avoid unwanted charges if you must cancel your room reservation.
